Babysitting course (Canadian Red Cross)

Description: The Canadian Red Cross Babysitter Course is for 11 to 15 year olds that are learning how to be home alone, as well as those kids that are interested in the business of babysitting.This course provides the skills needed to recognize and respond to emergency situations. Some of these include basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11–15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to younger children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. Course also offers youth the training to promote themselves as a babysitter to prospective parents. Some first-aid skills are discussed (e.g. Cuts, scrapes, bleeds, bloody noses, fainting, seizures, how to use an Epipen) among other things.

Completion Requirements: 100% attendance, skills demonstration, and 75% min. passing grade on the written test.

Certification: Upon Completion, you will receive a wallet card and a Canadian Red Cross Babysitter manual.

Duration: Approximately 8 hours
